A note from Karen
Welcome to my place at The Woods.
It sits on the Killington Access Road, and I would rather say plainly what that means: this is not ski-in, ski-out. The lifts are a short drive up the road. Dinner, the ski shops and the après bars are closer still, and most mornings I think that is the better trade.
I have tried to look after the things that make a ski week easy. Left of the fridge is a front-loading washer and dryer, and beside it the boiler room, which dries wet layers and warms boots overnight. Firewood waits on the patio through the sliding door. Upstairs, the loft has just been redone, with new carpet, three brand-new mattresses and a door that closes, so it works like a small apartment of its own.
Your stay comes with the pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna and gym at The Woods Resort & Spa. Massages and other treatments are booked with the spa directly, and the earlier the better. And ask me about lift tickets when you book: I have ten discounted day tickets for the season, at $78 or $109 a day instead of $205 at the window.
I hope you love it here.

Your host at The Woods
On the Access Road
The Woods sits on Killington Road, the road the whole town lives along. Drive up to the Snowshed and Ramshead base lodges in about seven minutes, come back down for a swim and a sauna, then head out again for dinner without a long night drive home.

The condo
A king bedroom, a renovated loft upstairs, and the practical comforts that matter in ski season.

Hearth & Hill
Foliage on the ridge, snow on the spruce, and a fire waiting at the end of the day.

Where you’ll be
About seven minutes to the Snowshed and Ramshead base lodges, twenty to Rutland, a little over half an hour to Woodstock. Karen’s restaurants, ski shops and groceries are on the map.

Seven minutes to the lifts
A short drive up the Access Road, lift tickets from $78 a day, and a warm room for your boots.

Getting to the lifts
The Woods sits about three-quarters of a mile up Killington Road from Route 4. Keep driving uphill and you reach the Ramshead and Snowshed base lodges in six or seven minutes, about 3.3 miles; K-1, at the very top of the road, is a few minutes farther.
Pico, Killington’s sister mountain and good on the same ticket, is a similar drive west on Route 4. The Bus runs a Rutland–Killington commuter route up the Access Road for $3 a ride; the winter timetable is posted at thebus.com.

The boot room
Beside the front-loading washer and dryer is the boiler room. Hang wet jackets, gloves and hats there and leave boots inside overnight; they come out dry and warm, which is most of what a second ski day needs.
Rentals, tuning & boots
Skiology is a quarter of a mile from the condo. Killington’s own rental shops take reservations only, so book ahead if you plan to use them.

Winter 2026–27
Snowmaking began on October 17, two weeks earlier than last year. Killington usually opens in early to mid November, Pico follows in December, and the women’s World Cup returns to Superstar from November 27 to 29.
